Susan Radojevic: Ensuring events continue when the economy tanks

Susan2

Susan Radojevic, president of Toronto-based The Peregrine Agency Ltd., is a leading authority on strategic event alignment. Not long ago, she wrote a provocative blog post on her MPI blog (reposted on her company blog) about the state of the meetings industry and how meeting planners can respond. I recently asked Susan to elaborate a little more on the message she was trying to convey. You can follow Susan on Twitter @SusanRadojevic or visit Susan's blog at www.theperegrineagency.ca

6 tips to improve sound quality when using a handheld microphone

As we all know, quality audio makes your message crystal clear to your event attendees and can even enhance it. That's why microphones and speakers are a given, even in a small break out room where a little more lung power might do the job just fine. Audio takes away the guess work of whether or not your presenter will be a low-talker or your attendee's will be aurally challenged. Hand held mics are often the best choice.

Sharpen your listening skills for success in social media marketing

As a mom, I really relate to this Family Guy clip. But as consumers, we've all experienced it. Commercials, billboards, print ads, radio ads, T-shirts, labels all yelling "Buy my stuff!!" as loud as they can. The sound is so deafening and relentless that it's gone beyond being annoying. It's become background noise that we have learned to tune out.

Yes, that's our camera work & those are our screens behind Lee Daniels & Mariah Carey

Icon Presentations wide-screen technology brought the 2010 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala Awards to eye-popping life at the Palm Springs Convention Center Jan. 5. It was the eleventh year that Icon has provided video projection for the show, produced by Event Management Productions. But this year the screens were bigger than ever. Here Icon's CEO Mike Fryatt, explains a little about the audio visual set-up just hours before showtime.

Event Planners: Choose your medium wisely, it is your message

The medium is the message. I first heard these words in a college communications class. They sounded like nonsense to me then. Back then we were focused on radio, TV, film and print as media and as a young journalism student, all of them paled in comparison to my all-important message.
