With just about a year of event planning and production experience, I’ve quickly accomplished and learned a lot.  One of the things that I have learned is that events are about the experience. In looking at the websites of other event professionals during my job hunt, I have noticed one crucial commonality between them: they all place a heavy emphasis on photos and videos.  When I realized that, I also realized that I never simply “looked” at those websites—I experienced them.  The most visually stunning have left me breathless, awe-inspired and envious.

Not long ago, my friend Julius Solaris, well known for founding the 85,000 member Event Planning & Management Group on LinkedIn and for his EventManagerBlog, shared a tool with me that he has created for event bloggers: the Event Manager Theme.

It's a responsive WordPress blog theme specifically designed for people using a blog to market an event. I was impressed and would certainly purchase it if I were planning a new event. (I wish I'd had it for Event Camp Europe!)
